The Only Venomous Starfish
The only venomous starfish – Starfish called “crown of thorns” bears more than a thousand poisonous spines and feed on coral polyps. It inhabits the coral reefs of the Red Sea and the tropical Indian and Pacific Ocean.
This is the only known poisonous starfish. The body is covered with numerous sharp spines up to 3 cm. It feeds on corals. In the mid-’70s bands of “crowns” inflicted heavy damage to the Great Barrier Reef. If you come to such a star, its venom causes severe inflammation. But for all its dangers star is a beautiful representative of the ocean depths.
Toothpick City
It’s the one thing that we all wish we had more of. I was just listening to the song “Forever Young” by Alphaville, and I must say, as cheesy as the video is, the song is a sure bet to bring the retro back into your life. I guess we all would like to stay young forever. Most likely we have all experienced a moment in life where, if we could, we would stop time just to enjoy it for a lifetime or two. Well, as for right now, living forever is nobody’s choice. I guess no matter how long or short your time is here on earth, it’s what you fill it with that is ultimately important. It’s all about what you make of it in the end. It’s the moments of true joy.
For some people, that choice has gone entirely to the creative side. That is the case for designer and toothpick pioneer Scott Weaver. He has truly been busy the last 35 years, and it has all been spent creating a build that will take you about the same amount of time to get through. Using well over 100,000 toothpicks, Scott created a build that is not only intricate as heck, but also unimaginably beautiful, if you like chaos that is.
The build, called the Golden Gate Park, has an impressive flora of toothpicks as well. With friends and family members roaming the planet, Scott has been given a vast collection of toothpick brands from all over the world. He has incorporated toothpicks from Kenya, Morocco, Spain, West Germany and Italy just to name a few countries. It’s almost mesmerizing to look at his build since the detail just goes on forever and ever. What is most inspiring is the dedication he keeps spending to build more even after 35 years. That is pure passion and dedication if you ask me.

Relying on his wife Alejandra, a former yoga teacher and now animal practioner, to get the dogs in as close to position as possible, Dan then photographs the dogs before making adjustments in photoshop.

Palm Islands in Dubai
The Palm Jumeirah consists of a trunk, a crown with 17 fronds, and a surrounding crescent island that forms an 11 kilometer-long breakwater. The island itself is 5 kilometers by 5 kilometers. It will add 78 kilometers to the Dubai coastline. The first phase of development on the Palm Jumeirah will create 4,000 residences with a combination of villas and apartments over the next 3 to 4 years.Residents began moving into their Palm Jumeirah properties at the end of 2006, five years after land reclamation began, according to project developer Nakheel Properties. This signaled the end of phase one of construction, which includes approximately 1,400 villas on 11 of the fronds of the island and roughly 2,500 shoreline apartments in 20 buildings on the east side of the trunk.
